The first half of 2018 saw a wave of megadeals that propelled US deal value well ahead of last year’s pace. Huge deals came in a wide range of sectors, and a significant percentage of all corporate deals crossed industry lines. Those transactions often require different approaches and new tools that enable buyers to better assess a deal’s expected value.
Although valuations remain high, corporate and private acquirers have access to plenty of capital. They also remain interested in deals across country lines as they navigate tariffs and an uncertain geopolitical landscape.
John Potter, US Deals Sector Leader, recently discussed these issues and more with Curt Moldenhauer, US Deals Solutions Leader. We also take a closer look in John’s Q2 2018 Deals industry insights post.
